About the Program
The Grey Bruce Supervised Access Program is funded by the Ministry of Child and Community Social Services. The host organization for this program The Owen Sound Salvation Army located at 365 14th St. West.
GBSAP provides a safe, neutral, and child-focused setting for Supervised visits and exchanges. Our visit rooms offer a comfortable and relaxed setting, where a variety of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activites are provided.
GBSAP staff encourage positive parent-child interaction. During visits, families spend quality time together under the supervision of staff. Every effort is made to reduce stress for families new to the program. On-site tours are available for the children prior to their first visit.
Factual, clear, and concise observation reports, which are used for the courts, are available upon request for a fee.
Visits
There are some times when it is not possible for a parent or relative to visit a child without supervision.
Possible reasons might include:
- Difficulty resulting from separation or divorce
- Reunion of parent and child after lengthly separation
- Possible threat of harm to child or adult
- Flight risk
- Inconsistancy in visitation schedule
Exchanges
Often when parents separate they prefer not to have contact with each other. This may occur as a result of unresolved conflict, or a history of abuse exists.
GBSAP offers parents a neutral setting for picking up and dropping off their child(ren) preventing contact with the other party, minimizing unesessary interactions.

Virtual Visits
When parents or relatives are unable to attend on-site visits due to distance, GBSAP offers virtual visits allowing both parties to remain in their homes and participate in a video-based visit. These virtual visits are fully supervised by our staff.
Where To Begin
Individual intake interviews are conducted after BOTH parties (the Custodial/Residential Party and the Visiting Party) have contacted GBSAP and requested use of our services.
Although many referrals begin with the legal community, you do not need a referral to be involved with our program.
Unless otherwise stated in a Court Order or Agreement, fees for a visit or exchange are are assessed on a sliding scale and shared between both parties.
